Ryan Lochte’s Grill: Yes or No?

These days our country is facing a lot of tough questions. Who should be our next president? How will the social security program survive the baby boomers? What should we do about Iran’s nuclear program?

There’s one question in particular, however, that’s been on everyone’s minds…

Did Ryan Lochte look good in his American flag grill at the Olympics?

If you’ve been living under a rock for the past few days (or just haven’t watched Olympic swimming) you should probably know that Ryan Lochte is one of America’s best swimmers and a constant rival to his teammate Michael Phelps. This year he’s taken home two gold medals, two silvers and one bronze.

Lochte wore the red, white and blue grill on the Olympic podium after winning gold in the 400-meter Individual Medley. The grill was made for Lochte right here in Houston by rapper Paul Wall and jeweler Johnny “TV Johnny” Dang. It’s encrusted with diamonds and jewels and reportedly cost the swimmer $25,000.

According to Dang’s operation manager Tony Khan, the grill was totally of Lochte’s design but making it was difficult. He told the New York Times that it was complicated to produce stars and stripes on high-quality diamonds.

“We weren’t sure we would be able to pull it off,” Mr. Kahn said. “We only have a little bit of space in our mouths.”

Here at Greenspoint Dental, we want to put this issue to rest. We’ve reviewed all the evidence (watched videos and photos of the awards ceremony), looked over all the documents (read a few style blogs) and weighed our own consciences.

After serious deliberation we have decided that Ryan Lochte did, in fact, look pretty good in his grill.
