Veneers are an extremely effective method for giving patients with tooth loss, misshapen teeth, or insecurities around the appearance of their teeth a bright, symmetrical, and beautiful smile. At Greenspoint, we’ve been practicing cosmetic dentistry and veneer applications for over 20 years. We’ve given countless patients the smiles of their dreams and would be delighted to do the same for you.

What Are Veneers?

Dental veneers are tooth-colored shells, made out of varying materials, placed on top of teeth to improve their appearance. They can change their color, size, length, or shape to match surrounding teeth or improve the look of your entire smile. Veneers improve the look and feel of teeth while also protecting the tooth from additional erosion or damage. They typically last between 5-20 years, depending on the material, and are an immediate option to improve the appearance of your smile.

What Are The Different TYpes of Veneers?

Composite Veneers

Composite veneers are created in the office and can be done in one visit. However, they are not as effective as their porcelain counterparts. For one thing, they are more fragile and more likely to break. Their color is also not as stable and will sometimes change over time. Composite veneers usually last around 5-7 years on average.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are our preferred material for veneers. We make an impression of your teeth and send it to a lab to ensure your veneers are the perfect fit and shade for your mouth. Porcelain Veneers typically last between 10-15 years.

Porcelain veneers are beneficial for many reasons:

  • Natural appearance
  • Healthy—don’t harm the gum tissue
  • Brighter than their composite counterparts
  • Versatile—effective in concealing most cosmetic flaws
  • Easy to maintain
  • Last longer than composite
  • Extremely durable
  • Stain resistant

Lumineers Veneers

Lumineers differ from traditional veneers in that they do not require numbing, drilling, or etching of the tooth enamel before bonding. Using a contact-lens ultra-thin porcelain material, the veneers are placed on your teeth during a quick and painless procedure. Lumineers are designed to match your tooth enamel’s natural appearance. They are the easiest way to transform the shape and color of your smile.

A follow-up visit will be scheduled to check on the dental veneers and make any adjustments necessary. Patients can expect Lumineers to last approximately 10 to 20 years.

How Much Do Veneers Cost?

Let’s face it: veneers can be expensive. However, when considering the cost of braces and other dental procedures, many see them as a worthwhile investment. They typically cost between $500-$2,000 per tooth.

The cost of veneers depends on the material type, the number of veneers needed, how many application visits are needed, and the specific dentist’s office location and pricing models.

Veneers are indeed a significant investment, and you should do sufficient research when making this important decision. When contemplating your options, consider their longevity, low maintenance requirements, and immediate results.

Are Veneers covered by insurance?

They are typically considered purely cosmetic procedures, but in some specific instances, insurance may help to cover the costs. Check with your insurance provider to see if your specific case warrants a discussion.

Do Dental offices provide payment plans?

You’ll have to contact your dentist or cosmetic specialist to discern whether or not they offer payment plans. At Greenspoint Dental, we work with all of our patients to ensure they are getting the best price, and we offer tailored payment plans and financing to help you afford the treatment you need.
