Teeth whitening, veneers, and teeth contouring are great options that will get your smile right, just in time.

After seeing thousands of patients and many technology and materials advancements, his advice has been thoroughly tested and researched. You can trust Greenspoint to perfect your smile this upcoming holiday season.

Teeth Whitening

Greenspoint Dental offers exceptional cosmetic dentistry services. In fact, Greenspoint offers multiple variations of the same treatments for every mouth and every budget.

Teeth whitening, sometimes called bleaching, brightens your tooth enamel. The chemical process is peroxide-based. There are several types of whitening you may consider:

  • Product-based whitening
  • In-office whitening
  • Take-home or commercially available whiteners

Several consumer methods of whitening are popular. They can be found in products like toothpaste, mouthwashes, strips, trays, or chewing gum. They are typically less potent than services through your dentist. They often take more time and yield inconsistent results. Consult with your dentist about at-home whiteners since they can harm other dental work or agitate stressed gums and nerves.

At your dentist, the most popular option will be a gel which is then activated by a laser or focused light beam at a specific frequency, wavelength, and brightness. There are several brands dentists use, such as Zoom!, which, in a single session, can brighten up to eight shades. This is a great option for getting your teeth white just in time for the holidays.

Dentists can also subscribe and supply take-home kits, which are much more effective than traditional at-home whitening methods. In addition to checking your teeth and any hardware, they also examine gums and other tissues in the mouth that may react adversely to the chemicals. These custom kits are perfectly designed for your mouth and offer beautiful results.

Responsible dentists will verify if whitening is appropriate for their patients.  Greenspoint uses Zoom! technology to provide you with the whitest smile in the shortest amount of time. We also make custom-fit, take-home trays for whitening and gels that are safe for your gums and dental work.

Veneers

Teeth Whitening isn’t the only option for getting a whiter and prettier smile. Another option for revamping your smile around the holidays is Veneers.

Veneers are available in two types: porcelain and composite resin. Both place a beautiful, new surface on teeth but have very different construction and materials.

  • Porcelain veneers are longer-lasting and are made to match the shade, shape, and facets of your existing teeth, or to make several teeth appear alike. They are individually molded, fired, and glazed.
  • Composite Resin veneers are brushed onto existing teeth as a liquid, hardened in your mouth, and then sculpted before coating with a sealant. While less expensive, they are not as resilient or long-lasting.

While veneers may be a solution to cracked, chipped, or decaying teeth, they are considered a cosmetic treatment. Unless veneers are a medically-necessary solution or remedy to an injury you had no control over, such as an automobile accident, they will not be covered by insurance

While the appearance of Veneers is long lasting, they will not last forever. However, it is important to know that they will permanently brighten and straightenalter the teeth beneath. They require etching the enamel on the front of teeth and adhering a porcelain shell or brushing on a resin that hardens directly onto the tooth. Veneers last longer than whitening and do more than Invisalign or tooth contouring to reshape a smile.

Greenspoint Dental recommends porcelain veneers which it has been matching to its patients’ mouths and making beautiful smiles with for 20+ years.

Tooth Contouring

If you aren’t sold on going through the process of getting veneers but want to improve the overall shape and uniformity of your teeth, tooth contouring is another viable option. Commonly, several teeth are longer than others and stand out in a smile. This can cause low-self esteem and reduced confidence in social situations. Having a dentist trim sharp edges or noticeable size differences might give you the confidence boost you are looking for.

This cosmetic procedure typically only affects the outer layer of enamel. It reduces the size/shape of a tooth by a slight but perceivable amount. Used in conjunction with gum contouring, the smile may be changed with a minimum amount of permanent changes to the rest of the smile.

Greenspoint Dental has provided tooth contouring for many patients who have wished for a more uniform and attractive smile. We would be happy to provide you with the smile you’ve always dreamed of.
