As the weather begins to cool down (okay maybe not cool- but not 90 degrees), a movie night under the blankets beckons. Not only is Netflix full of fantastic movies, it’s also peppered with megawatt celebrity smiles. Hollywood’s elite are not shy when it comes to flawlessly straight, pearly white teeth. As an essential part of their look, most of our favorite actors and actresses spend a great deal of time in the dental chair. Here’s our list of favorite celebrity smiles in no particular order:
1. Julia Roberts
How could anyone argue with this one? For years Julia has been dazzling audiences with her gleaming smile. What’s her secret? Julia told InStyle, “I brush [my teeth] with baking soda. [My grandfather] would put a big heaping mound of it on his toothbrush. He had only one cavity in his entire life.” This isn’t the first time Julia has made it on one of our Hollywood smile lists. 2. Tom Cruise
Adult braces aren’t so bad, just ask this top gun. Tom Cruise’s smile wasn’t always poster ready, but he took care of it the old fashioned way. Next time you think that people will make fun of you for being an adult brace face think about Tom’s 5-star transformation.
3. Kim Kardashian
She may be best known for other things, but this Hollywood beauty has it going on in front too. Kim’s full lips and straight teeth keep her camera-ready all the times. Love her or hate her, Kim’s brilliant Hollywood smile is undeniable.
4. Anne Hathaway
It is hard to play a sickly prostitute when you have a radiant smile. Anne Hathaway’s Les Mis makeup team had their work cut out for them when they tried to mask these pearly whites. Fantine may have had her teeth ripped out, but Anne Hathaway’s teeth are still as luminous as ever. She’ll start filming Ocean’s Eight next month, and we can’t wait to see her beaming on the big screen.
5. Zac Efron
We are guessing this star wouldn’t want to to be 17 again. Looking back to his high school days, Zac wasn’t always such a hunk. But as his muscles enlarged, so did the intensity of his foxy grin. Sometimes all you need is a good orthodontist and some whitening toothpaste. Mother’s and daughters agree that this heartthrob earned his spot on this list.
6. Miley Cyrus
Hannah Montana may have been a rocker, but Miley’s smile is the real star. After her Disney Channel days, Miley upgraded her smile in a big way. Now her teeth play backup to her iconic tongue-out look. But those ivory chompers don’t go unnoticed.
Some of these celebs were blessed with pearly whites, others took matters into their own hands. Nonetheless, I think we can all agree that Hollywood orthodontists are doing great work!
